My Philosophy

I believe any genre of creative writing—including poetry—enriches and nurtures the minds of children, teens, and adults alike.

My love for writing began in elementary school, when I wrote and memorized my first poem, My Cat Marshmellow, for a class assignment. The experience lit a spark that became a guiding light for me ever since.

During my 30-year teaching career in elementary education and ENL at Islip Schools on Long Island, I saw firsthand how poetry supports language learning and self-confidence

Examining, discussing, and writing original poems helped my students grow as thinkers, readers, and communicators.

Now, as a children’s author, I bring my passion for poetry and my experience as an educator into every book I write. 

My goal is to help all ages discover the joy of words, beacause ... 

every soul has a poet within just waiting to be discovered.
